pinky promise.
2:01 PM

the time is 9.01 pm. in four hours, khairul will be off to reading never to return for another nine months or so.

i drove to the other side of the malay peninsular today ~ bangi. the expedition was my fourth. solo. i'll be damned, the island girl has come so far from having to commute within a 5 mile radius using the convenience of the mrt!

my maiden voyage to that far flung place where his beautiful family chose to build their home was an unexpected surprise for him, at the time blissfully snoozing when i drove up to the front of the house :) the funny thing about this trip was not because it was to be my last...for some time... but that it was the very first time i did not take a wrong turn, or needed to call to ask ~or yell, rather ~ for directions while he's on googlemap. hmm... looking back at it now, it's truly astonishing that i managed to get there and back home safe. i was nothing but a miserable wreck behind the wheel.

update: he's in the shower now, getting ready to leave. i sound obsessed, don't i. shut up.

i drove away from the house today half bawling, half trying hard to keep my eyes open and dry so i don't crash the damn car. the dramatic episode owed itself to the fact that the drive, on my own, marked the end of a wonderful summer...and the most beautiful seven months of my life.

from the first 'union', to the many lunches and trips and dinners and movies, through all the fights and all the tears, and to the moment when i last saw him wave and gesture 'i love you' to me in the rear-view mirror as i drove off, i have been the happiest, most luckiest girl in the world.

take care of yourself, always... never skip your meals, go easy on the cordials, and give your coffees two instead of four sugars. take care of liza. work hard. and sayang... remember your prayers, and know that i'll always have you in mine.

thank you. for everything you've given me.

i'll miss you. if you haven't figured that out already.

i'll see you in my dreams.
