21
7:20 AM

as always, the fourth of july was right smack in the middle of exam season. it has been that way for many years now, so i'm pretty much used to it. time for a little bit of reflection...

turning 21 isnt that big of a deal for me, though i know it is huge for some, if not most. thinking about whether i have changed these past couple of years has got my darling-swissyland-love shen reminding me that i am OLD. the most comforting thing he could say, which made me happy and annoyed in parts, was that i am still the same girl he knew when we were what...12? haha. but i think i'm nicer now. much nicer. i mean come on. i put up with neptune on a daily basis without killing him once. ever. if me and him met some years back, he'd be in trouble like you wont believe... lol.

and so... with exams starting the monday after my birthday, there was no cause for celebration. but here's what i found on my seat in the uber last minute crime class on friday.

he didnt come in a giant chocolate cake, but at least he got me flowers ;)

p.s. thanks, munchkin :)
*hugs*

after criminalizing, we made a beeline for subway. pooja- who just got back from singapore having legally changed her name (f.y.i, love, you will always be poojiekins to me, for as long as we both live)- dropped by subang to see her equally gorgeous aki, and to see me...naturally :) sweet, isnt it.

how convenient is that, them opening a sub right across the street from the infamous ciggy spot. wooooot! me and wawa gonna pack on some pounds next year for sure.
watch this space.
lol

later on in the day, my pa kept checking in on me while i locked myself upstairs with michael a. jones and the bloke who wrote unlocking tort, to see whether i'd reconsider dropping my books for a while and go to dinner with him, like we normally do every fourth of july. i was so worried about the papers that i had to say no. i'll make it up to him now that exams are over.

turning 21 strangely enough, makes me want to slow down, take a breath and make time for things i never would have during those angsty days.

it has been a good year, give or take a few moments.
was in love.
got separated from p. and v.
had my heart broken.
stumbled into law.
got to know some amazing people.
ended my first year at law school.

the best is yet to come, i suppose...
:)
