the weekend.
8:37 AM

so, i've landed myself in a sticky situation once more with the local immigration. having zero status whatsoever to remain in residence in this country for more than thirty days without being branded an illegal immigrant, i have decided that the best thing to do is to return home. well not technically home, seeing as home is- god help me- where the heart is. and since home is here, where i am writing this post, i could only be referring to the motherland.

with a temporary stint at either a minister's department, a big four, or a swiss bank in the cards, i'm hoping to kill time productively for a change, until the start of my term in law school. again.

my short- blink and you'll miss- trip to singapore this weekend made me think that the move probably isn't such a bad idea. the island has changed in so many ways throughout the ten years that i've been away. but i suppose that's what's going to make everything more exciting :)

on another lovelier note, i went to a wedding- my first in malaysia, of perhaps the most charming couple i've ever met. i was first introduced to them at reading, in the ground floor kitchen at block d, sherfield hall. an odd place to meet, you would think. but megat insisted they came along when he joined us for a post malaysia night nasi lemak celebration. lol. i didn't know them, but apparently they knew me. such sweet people... i never realised how quickly time flew, from that night, to yesterday.

amanda and saify were married on the 31st day of july, in the year two thousand and ten. the wedding reception which followed the evening after was nothing short of beautiful.

the bride was glowing, and the groom looked ever so handsome. the entire evening was devoted to love- that of the young newlyweds, the bond between brother and sister, and the overwhelming love and support of the mother and father of the bride.

throughout the evening, a charming montage chronicled their lives from when they were engaged, to the days leading up to that evening when they proudly entered the ballroom as husband and wife. megat's sister was telling me how old she felt knowing that amanda has now entered into wedded bliss at only twenty two years old. she didn't have to tell me twice, for the past year alone has seen *counts* four! of my friends getting hitched to the loves of their lives, and several more now busy planning their big day. it's such a wonderful feeling that gets you all teary-eyed knowing that your friends- some you've known since the first grade, are happy.

there, on that night, i couldn't be happier to see them both radiant, as husband and wife. even more so because i had sitting next to me, my own true love.

to the bride and groom, may your love burn brightest in the darkest of hours and never flicker in the winds of trials.
