a most unorthodox 23rd.
6:25 AM

give me a moment while i figure out a way to make myself comfortable with an uber sore bum.

....

...........

.......................

yesterday, the 27th of May, was the day LDJ was brought into this world 23 years ago kicking, crying, bawling, and most definitely cursing. it was a day to be remembered...
mainly because she finally came along to one of the outings organized by our very rajin xh ong.

no, i kid you not.

:p

despite the incident some time ago which left yours truly traumatized, we found a need to visit cherakah hill in shah alam at least just once more. i- or some of us, went in search for entertainment. but. alas. it came with safety equipment.

damn.

neptune loh.

little does he know that the helmet doesn't stop him from rolling down the hill.

so there we all were, in my backyard (i live in shah alam. which makes it very embarrassing to admit to know nothing about cerakah hill especially when the entrance to it is only a stone's throw away from my dentist.... ).. cycling.

this time, there was a significantly higher level of testosterone thrown into the mix- courtesy of aizad, shaun and jeat.

see dirga, i wasn't bluffing... there's barbie. right there.

the only thing missing in this picture is you on my left.

cherakah hill surprised me. it is huge. not like your normal botanical gardens or anything of the sort. there's a padi field, an animal farm, according to leena a 'four seasons' spot, and loads more.... i was too tired to go see what else they had down yonder.

chicks dig cameras. and the cameraman too :p

shortly afterwards, all sticky and sore, the entourage- five convoys, made a beeline for pj in the midst of rush-hour traffic for a banana leaf joint near ong's old high school. the food was alright- a little overpriced though, but the place was pretty crowded. made even more so when we arrived.

ldj's squeeze arrived midway to escort her elsewhere, while the rest of us made our way back home. i knew nothing about pj, except for damansara. and bangsar. and i had no clue which part of pj we were at. save that it was near jalan gasing. to cut a long story short, i was lost.

neppers, trying to be the hero he thinks he is, claimed to be able to lead me out of pj. but as soon as we were on the road, he changed his mind. so... we were lost. driving aimlessly for a good 20 minutes or so. before we stumbled upon this road leading to this crematorium belonging to some cousin of neptune's, where he regained whatever memory he had of the fastest route to the highway from there.

i followed his lead... like i had any other choice..... and we found the highway.

i was beaming.
he was so proud of himself.
until i saw avon to my left.
which meant that we were on the wrong side of the highway.
at this point, he was cracking up, like he normally does when he feels a smack coming his way.

and hello. pj is the size of freaking singapore. and you expect me to know which way to go. pfft.

anyway, the day went pretty much like that.

i can say for sure it was not like any other 27th of Mays Lara has had so far.

Happy Birthday, B
xoxo
